Fitch Believes He's the Number One Guy in the WSOF
After defeating Marcelo Alfaya by split decesion at WSOF 6, Jon Fitch believes that he is the only contender that makes sense for Steve Carl's first WSOF Welterweight title defense. Steve Carl captured the title on the same night that Fitch defeated Marcelo Alfaya. Fitch has stated that he knows that a match with Josh Burkman could possibly occur but is willing to fight him despite how he feels about his contender status.
I think that Fitch may be right in his assumption that he is the number one contender due to the fact that the WSOF Welterweight Division isn't that deep. I feel that Fitch could be next in line with another win or two in the WSOF. I think that a clash between Fitch and Burkman would be necessary before either one of them could truly face Steve Carl.
