Bellator 120:Rampage/King Mo added to Bellator PPV Card

Bellator will attempt to try their hand at the PPV business once more as they have scheduled a third match between Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler for the Bellator Lightweight Championship. The two men both own a win over each other and have traded the title between the two of them.  Bellator originally tried their first pay-per-view back in November, but the card was sent to regular television when Tito Ortiz's injury canceled the main event.

Bellator now has tried to increase their selling power by adding the Bellator Light Heavyweight Tournament Final between Quinton Rampage Jackson and King Mo. The two men had what seemed to have been a staged "confrontation" after their victories at Bellator 110 in February. The two appeared to be ready trade blows in that moment, but the altercation didnt seem genuine as it felt like an episode of TNA Impact.

I can't say that I'm really excited to see the fight, but I think the fight will give each man a reason to want to out perform the other when they clash. I think that they will bring the best out of each other as the two men are hands down the biggest names in the Bellator Light Heavyweight Division. I think wanting to prove themselvea as the best that Bellator has to offer will ne enough to get both men to perform at their best.

Jackson and Spong Want a Fight

A few weeks ago, the WSOF proposed a joint PPV card with Bellator that would put some of the top WSOF talent up against Bellator's top fighters.  The fight that WSOF  highlighted as the main event feature multiple kickboxing champion Tyrone Spong against former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.  It seems that the two are taking the proposed bout seriously as the two of them have been feuding over Twitter over the last few days.  Both men are asking for the bout and believes that they are the better fighter.

I don't think that the fight or the card will ever come into fruition but if the fight did happen it would be the biggest fight that either company could put together with their rosters.  Realistically I don't believe Jackson has a chance despite his recent win over Joey Beltran, who he was supposed to beat anyways.  Tyrone Spong is a world class kick boxing champion with an impressive record of (73-6-1-1) and an MMA record of (2-0).  Even though Spong has few MMA fights, his kickboxing skills with the guidance of the Blackzillians team down in Florida, Jackson doesn't stand a chance.  Though I feel that it would be a one-sided victory for Spong, Jackson does have a puncher's chance, but that is all I give him if a match ever ensued.

Joey Beltran Returns to Bellator Against Rampage

Today Bellator MMA has announced that despite Tito Ortiz's injury that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will still make his Bellator debut in November with a new replacement opponent.  Jackson was originally set to face Tito Ortiz in Bellator's first every Pay-Per-View event on November 2nd.  With Ortiz's injury during his training camp, Bellator decided to remove the card from Pay-Per-View and place it as a free card on Spike.  The man that Rampage Jackson will be facing on November 15th to replace Ortiz is former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight, Joey Beltran.  Beltran has three victories in the UFC and one in Bellator.  He has a similar boxing/striking first approach to fighting that is similar to Jackson's in many ways.  This fight will be a slugfest that I see Jackson winning without a doubt.  I think it will definitely be entertaining, but Jackson has a much better track record to lose a fight to Beltran.

Jackson Reveals His Original Plan

Rampage recently revealed that the rumors that were spread this summer of a possible match with Roy Hones Jr. were somewhat right. Jackson stated that he was prepared to not only face Jones Jr. in a bosing match but also face him in the cage in an MMA bout.  I feel that the boxing match would be more interesting than the MMA fight, unless if I was the only one who saw the Couture/Toney fight. Though I feel Jones Jr. would fair better in an MMA bout, I think that boxing would he more competitive with Jones Jr. getting the victory. If it comes together it comes together fine, but if not I won't beg for it. All these plans  were foiled when Tito came into the Bellator picture. I personally think that Jackson/Jones Jr. is more entertaining than anything involving a man named Tito Ortiz.

Alvarez Finally Getting Back in the Cage

After a long legal circus with Bellator and Viacom,  Eddie Alvarez has finally come to an 8-fight agreement that will get him fighting again very soon. His first fight will pit him in a rematch with current Bellator Lightweight Champion, Mike Chandler on Bellator's  PPV debut on November 2nd. This fight will be joined by a clash of former UFC Light Heavyweight Champions, Tito Ortiz and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Official Fight Poster for Rampage vs. Tito.

I think this fight had potential to have been a great fight in 2006 but I will still watch simply because it has attracted my attention.  What are your thoughts?  Who do you think will take this win?  How do you feel about Bellator targeting UFC vets after they stated that they weren't interested in signing ex-UFC stars?
