Sefo and WSOF's 180 Degree Turn on Palhares

When Rousimar Palhares was discharged from the UFC, Bellator's Bjorn Rebney and WSOF's Ray Sefo both expressed extreme disinterest in signing Palhares to either organization.  Now WSOF President, Ray Sefo, believes that Rousimar Palhares could possibly deserve a second chance to compete in a major promotion and has spoke with his team in regards to possibly being the organization to grant that opportunity.  Sefo has stated that nothing is set in stone and they will further look into the matter of possibly bring Palhares into the WSOF.

What are your thoughts?  Be sure to comment below on how you feel about the possible move for Palhares.

Why Palhares Was Banned for Life from the UFC

Earlier today we reported the release of UFC Welterweight and long time Middleweight, Rousimar Palhares.  In case you missed the submission from last night below is the notorious submission that got him fired.

In case you've not been a fan of the UFC for a while here is the time before that in which he held on a little too long as well:

If those two incidences of holding onto a submission after a tap wasn't enough, in his previous fight against Hector Lombard, Palhares tested positive for high testosterone levels.  This is a justifiable release for the UFC.  Palhaes' behavior is unacceptable and can not be ruled as an accident considering that this has happened now a second time.  The UFC is making a smart decision by releasing Palhares before he continues to jeopardize not only limbs but the careers of more of the UFC's roster.

Rousimar Palharea Released from UFC

Last night Rousimar Palhares made his MMA welterweight debut at UFC Fight Night 29. He quickly submitted Mike Pierce in the first round with a leg lock. Pierce quickly tapped to the submission, but Palhareals held on to slither leg for seconds after the tap and after the referee stepped in.

There was a similar incident back when Palhares was a middleweight and with that being said, Dana White released Palhares and banned him from the UFC.
