WSOF Announces Yushin Okami and Rousimar Palhares' Debut

Not long after their release from the UFC, Yushin Okami and Rusimar Palhares were picked up by the UFC's competition, WSOF.  The WSOF has just announced that they are planning to feature the two fighters on their March 29 card.  No opponents have been announced for either of the two men for their debuts.

WSOF Gets Okami

Last month the UFC sent Okami packing from the organization after his KO loss suffered at UFC Fight Night 28 literally from the hands of Ronaldo Jacare Souza.  There had been rumors that he was in talks with the WSOF but it has now beem confirmed that this is indeed the case.

A move to the WSOF is a good move for Yushin Okami considering that WSOF is growing in popularity as well as reputability.  I think that Yushin Okami will dominate the WSOF Middleweight division.  Okami has remained a top 10 fighter in the division since his debut in the UFC in 2006. Okami has beaten top guys in the UFC including late former UFC Champion Evan Tanner as well as competed against the two longest Middleweight Champions, Rich Franklin and Anderson Silva. Okami has good hands and amazing wrestling that will be beneficial in his WSOF career.

UFC Releases Okami

It was announced today that the UFC has released longtime Middleweight contender Yushin Okami.

Yushin Okami has been one of the most noteable faces in the UFC's Middleweight Division since his debut in 2006. He has faced both of the UFC's most decorated champions in the form of former champions Rich Franklin and Anderson Silva.  Yushin Okami has been in there with the best 185lbers and beaten the best in the process. He holds victories over some if the best guys in the division.

Okami is coming off of a tko loss to Ronaldo Jacare Souza at UFC Fight night 28. Tushing Okami leaves the organization as the #6 Middleweight in the UFC with a UFC record of 13-5. Yushin Okami was a part of the UFC's first event in Brazil in which he challeneged Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight title.
